Planting seeds at Humaneness 101 Summer Camp, 2015

The first Humaneness 101 summer camp was just completed in Hefei, the capital city of Anhui province in China.

Twenty seven students from age 9-17 joined us at the camp. They came from four provinces and seven cities in different parts of China. We also had a team of twelve volunteers that was made of high school and college students, as well as an adult teacher.

Student Feedback

"When I just arrived at the Summer Camp, I was not brave enough to talk with the teachers. But during the camp, I gained more confidence and was able to talk with them later on. I wouldn't be able to do this without the assistants' help. I thank you all for helping me."

"The classes are taught using a diversity of topics with the use of interesting activities, I learned a lot of new things."

"I learned to treat everyone equally."

"I realized that there are a lot of issues in our world, especially the importance of protecting the environment. The topics of animal shelter and animal protection were very meaningful to me."

"I learned to be brave enough to try new things and challenge myself, and also learned to love the environment and the society I live in."

"I understood what humaneness means. We are destroying our only place to live without even noticing and we're at the edge of no going back. We must put in our efforts to make some changes even if it might be considered minimal."

"I got a better understanding of humaneness and many current issues, this Summer camp gave me the motivation to make a change to protect the environment and animals. I also gotten better at English with the environment I was provided during the camp, my speaking has improved marginally."

"I am not providing enough help for the environment and the world yet."

"I learned many concepts that I've never even heard of before, this Summer camp broadened my view."

"I've learned that even though one person's strength might be to small to make a change, protecting the environment and animals are things that I need to try my best to do."

"The world isn't only ours, it belongs to every single organism alive and the nature itself."
