Yesterday morning, Humaneness 101 hosted its first formal informational session in the Hefei City Library in Anhui, China. Ivy and Kent explained the mission and value of Humane Education and shared their own experience and thoughts with the audience. A lot of parents, children and educators attended the event to learn about Humane Education.
Since March 2015, Humaneness 101 has taught seven humane education classes to 5th grade students In Portland, OR. Last week, students learned to make their own Public Service Announcement (PSA) as their final project.
Mandy Schmit is a current M.Ed. student at the Institute for Humane Education & Valparaiso University that trains future humane educators. She has had a strong connection to nature and animals her entire life. Now she's excited about joining Humaneness 101 this summer to teach humane education in China!
In the past three weeks, Humaneness 101 Team did three on-campus fundraiser at commons and in the library lobby. Many students and staff showed up to support us. We very much appreciate it :) Click inside to see pictures taken during the events.
